Now entering its tenth year of operation, Timber Lake Golf Course in Moberly, is being discovered by more and more area golfers. We are beginning the 2003 year with a brand new look at the club house. Located about two miles east of Mobery, Timber Lake opened in 1994. The 18 hole, par 70 course is off U.S. 24 about a mile east of Moberly, and two miles north on County Road 1450. The greens average about 4500 square feet. Timber Lake has gained the reputation of having some of the quickest putting greens in the area. Yardage from the blue tees is 6069 yards, 5786 yards from the white tees and 5215 yards from the red tees. The course has more than its share of character, with an abundance of existing mature timber lining the fairways, a total of 14 sand traps and numerous fairway mounds designed to challenge players' ability to hit from uneven lies. Thanks to nearly a dozen lakes and a creek, water comes into play on about half of the holes. In the past few years, numerous improvements have been made to the course. A new tee box was completed on hole 9 lengthening the par 5 to 600 yards. In the fall of 2001 concrete was poured on several of the cart paths, 4 new bridges were installed, and two new lakes were constructed. During the 2002 season we began construction of a new green on #14 which will hopefully be playable in the 2004 season and a few new tees will show up this season.
